An Irish production company with a focus on character driven narratives, centred around marginalised female protagonists

Portia A. Buckley is an IFTA award-winning Irish writer/director. Shooting primarily on film, Portia’s background as an artist influences her work, imbuing it with a strong visual aesthetic and bold, classical composition.

Portia studied fine art at Camberwell College before moving to the prestigious Courtauld Institute, in London, where she received a distinction for her Masters Degree, specialising in Photography and Film in Global Contemporary Art. In 2019, she graduated from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU with an MFA in Writing & Directing Film.

Her latest film Clodagh won the 2025 IFTA for Best Short Film, was Shortlisted for the 2025 Academy Award and Longlisted for the 2025 BAFTA. It was also the winner of the Grand Prix Irish Short at Cork International Film Festival and Best Short at the Belfast Film Festival.
